GLORIA

Gloria starts as a mirror and ends as a console. One band of solid wood travels around the glass, drops away at the side, then turns forward at the bottom to form a shelf. It reads as a single continuous gesture rather than two pieces joined.

The piece is wall mounted, with nothing touching the floor. The frame is deliberately uneven, thickening where it carries weight and thinning where it doesn't, so the silhouette shifts as you move past it.

At 56 inches across, Gloria holds an entry or a hallway on its own, doing the work of a mirror and a console without reading as either. Carved from solid ash, finished in ebony. Each Gloria is made to order, in any wood and any finish.
